Though I say it myself, it's a cunningly well-written book that brings you onboard a huge modern cruise liner, the SS. I know that before I took a cruise the thought of spending days in a tin can bouncing across violent seas was more the stuff of my nightmares than my dreams. The reality I found out was quite different and now I'm only sorry I didn't take to cruising earlier.

Yes. Well, you know what to expect on most ships but this one is a little different. The length of the cruise to start with. In 50 days you will visit 17 ports and some are ones that you may not have visited yourself. The adult only nature of the cruise changes the dynamics onboard. The average passenger age is upped by 10 years so that 73 years of age is average on this ship.

Oh - and I forgot to mention the ship is sailing one thousand miles up the Amazon River!

You also get to meet some very interesting passengers and crew, about 3,000 of them.
