Murder On Board

I really must log into Goodreads more as I have just come across this readers review for Murder On Board. Anthony summarised my story far better than I myself have!

rated it it was amazing
One of the best books I have ever read! The book was a diary of a 50-day cruise. I "L-O-V-E-D" the author's style:

Today we played bridge. Then we had tea. Later I killed a guy. Then we sat and listened to the violinist. Dinner was excellent, especially the lamb.

I have been on cruises and I despise people who stop. When walking through a narrow crowded corridor and the people in front of you just stop walking...... They would be on my list. The lady who is seated with us at dinner, and she sits too close and won't stop yabbering about nothing .... she would be on my list. The author of this book finally dealt with "those" people.

Now the author didn't kill anybody. He simply took a cruise. I'm sure the book stemmed from his thinking how much better his day would be if the woman who reached bare-handed into the buffet food somehow found herself properly chastised.

The book was excellent. I wish I were friends with the author.

Murder On Board now in the County Wexford shops

I'm just back from a Wexford Local Author's night of readings in the Red Book Shop in
Selskin House, St Peter's Square, Slippery Green, Wexford, Y35 ER2F  in Wexford town. It was an epic night with no less than fourteen authors attending! They covered so many different genres of writing that there was something for everyone.

Wexford Local Authors at the Red Book Shop

From poetry to biographies, crime, musical history, local history, exercise books for MS sufferers, collections of short stories, readings from scripts. The shop was bulging with readers and they sat for almost two hours as they were bombarded with words.

My extract that was the second last reading of the night was extremely well received and I loved to hear the laughter, at the right moments! Murder In Maspalomas is the opposite of a dark, menacing read. I wrote it so that the humour and the drama of the story went hand in hand.

What starts as a story of how someone tries to make a legitimate buck by importing from China the kid's number 1 Christmas toy for that year, becomes a terrifying game of hide and seek as an unwitting couple ae pursued by a bunch of violent drug gangsters seeking to collect on a debt.

Murder On Board
Luke's previous cruise experiences have left him battered and bruised. This time it's going to be different. No more rolling over and just taking the crap. No more instances where he becomes a human doormat. No more bottling it up. No more saying and doing nothing. Luke is a different man, only nobody knows it..................yet.

Want to leave a book review on Goodreads?

I know many of my readers who bought hard copies off me at the recent book launch have said that they would like to leave a book review somewhere as they enjoyed the book so much. I have looked into it and below is a way of doing so and leaving your comments on Goodreads.

Log in to your Goodreads account (if you aren't already logged in). Open up the book's profile page for the book you'd like to review. Look for a section labelled "My Review" which should be the section right below the main book's description. Locate the link called "Edit review".

Holiday reading - new crime novel that transports you around the world on a cruise of a lifetime that you will never forget

Goodreads post re: Murder On Board

New maritime fiction novel "Murder On Board - diary of a murderer" where you follow the activities onboard of passengers and crew, many of whom will not be disembarking in Southampton on the ships return. It's a pacy story of life (and death) on board as the ship progresses across the Atlantic and towards the sunny Caribbean and the Americas and sucks the reader into life on board during long days at sea. I hope you will enjoy it and leave your review. I'd love to hear from you too so please email at markrice10@gmail.com.

Last days to get Murder On Board for 99 cents!

The pre-order period for this new fiction novel "Murder On Board" is almost up. Only three days remain to purchase at the special price of 99 cents/pence or $1.26. The final editing has been done and the book is now awaiting full release on Amazon and Kindle on Thursday this week.

I thought I'd share with you the feedback from one of the Beta Readers who I think summed the book  up nicely with the following words:

"I really enjoyed this book.  Some of the references had me chuckling.

I thought you had really strong characters and it was a pleasure getting to know them.

I also enjoyed the information you shared on all the places you visited.

The only negative thought I had was it seemed a little long. Almost too much information but after thinking about it. I don't see how you could leave anything out.

All in all I'd give you 5-stars for this creation."

Thank you, whoever you were, I couldn't have hoped for a better review!

Having a book edited is tough but worth the pain

I’d completed the manuscript and was delighted to get the publishing offer. I thought, without much thought, that I’d presented the final word in crime fiction. A story that took readers on a murderous journey around the world.
The editing process started a month ago and the “perfect manuscript” has had more holes shot in it than a bullseye at a firing range. From grammatical to formatting to logic issues, my editors have sweated blood over the sure-fire No. 1 best seller and right now I’m reviewing their review. It's hard eating humble pie but reassuring to know these guys, in the book world and both writers themselves, are absolutely committed to Murder On Board.
I knew, even in my darkest moments, that somewhere, lurking in the manuscript, there was a great story. A story of an ordinary guy that just flips and overreacts to other folks bad behaviour during a cruise of a lifetime. He reckons if they are still behaving this bad at aged seventy plus then, really they ain’t gonna change now and have used up all their second chances. Maybe you will agree with him?
Anyway, the clock is ticking for this story of maritime murder and intrigue. The book is on pre-order right now until the 30th of this month of May and then is released on Saturday 1st June 2019 by Junction Publishing.
Invest now for just 99 cents/ pence and decide for yourself, just how good this story of murder on the high seas really is and how justified Luke is in dealing with others.
